Project Surveyor, Level 3


Job Title: Project Surveyor Manager

Reports Directly to: Operations Manager

Works With:

  • President
  • Finance Manager
  • Project Manager
  • Technical Team Members (TTMs)
  • Office Administration

Experience / Education Required

  • 4-Year BS Degree, or 2-Year Associates LS Degree, or Equivalent Experience 
  • California PLS License 
  • 8+ years’ experience in the field 
  • 8+ years’ experience AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafting Experience 
  • California Driver’s License 


Job Description / Responsibilities

General

  • Implement Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), G&M’s management and operating system.
  • Other duties as directed by either the President or the Operations Manager. 
  • Must provide proof of a clean driving record in order to drive the company vehicle. 


Management 

  • Responsible for applying your PLS stamp on all drawings prepared under your direction.
  • Departmental Project Management 
  • Perform annual personnel reviews. 
  • Perform and supervise field-work for topographic surveys, Corner Records, Record of Surveys, etc.


Technical

  • Responsible for 100% design of assigned land surveying projects 
  • Responsible for Boundary Resolution of land surveying projects. 
  • Responsible for preparation of maps, easements and legal descriptions. 
  • Perform deed analysis. 
  • Develop and document required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Land Surveying Dept.
  • Prepare calculations for construction staking, setting property corners and etc


Communication/Customer Care

  • Excellent people skills, i.e., ability to listen, relate to others on a personal or professional level, have empathy for others and a willingness to work together for the good of G&M. 
  • Communicate and coordinate with sub-consultants and clients. 
  • Communicate and delegate tasks to TTMs.


Budget

  • Responsible for budget control of all assigned Land Surveying projects. 
  • Project Profitability


Quality/Scheduling 

  • Assist in developing and adhering to G&M Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) policies.


Training

  • Participate in on-going technical training for your professional development.
  • Training of TTMs within the Land Surveying Department as required.
